Apply Ice

Ice helps prevent distressing inflammation, and applying ice right after a work-out can reduce the inflammation process that leads to muscle soreness. Cover a bag of ice in a towel and apply to the muscles for almost 20 minutes. Rest for 40 minutes and then reapply the ice for another 20.
